Born in West Philadelphia, Pier're moved to Houston's Northside "Studewood" in 1977, right off the bat, his family & band directors since elementary school seen that he was a little more "special" than his other peers. Gaining 1st chair at most the schools he attended, and dancing better than most, he remained in a class all by himself. Coming from a family tree of well-known musicians, like his Father was the drummer of the very diverse jazz group "The Crusaders", his aunt is well-known legendary blues singer "Millie Jackson", Being discovered by both his well-known God-Uncles, Houston's Legendary "Captain Jack", and the late great (R.I.P.) Legendary Dallas Dj "Ushy Eron" being named after him, so at the tender age of 13 they saw it in his bloodline & Jack premiered U-Shay to the masses on Love 94 Fm in 1981, his mixing skills was so ahead of older Dj's...he became a student under The Legendary "Dj Chris Gant" on Love 94's Friday & Saturday Nite Mixshow w/ Captain Jack.

Word soon spread about this teen phenom that he caught the ears of KYOK & KCOH AM's Program Dir. The Legendary Robert "Showbiz" Mosley & Steve Hegwood, and became the first Teenager to make radio history and have his own radio show at the age of 14. Moving and shaking w/ the biggest artists in 80's Hip-Hop R-n-B, he was constantly booked for tours/studio time cause of his well-known scratching skills & live showmanship. He Also Traveled in the summers Djing w/ his uncle Ushy in Dallas & sponged up all his knowledge at parties his was known for w/ his uncle & Dr. Rockk on the Dallas Party scene.

He caught the eyes of well-known longtime mentor Pam Collins that was Program Dir. at Texas Southern University's K.T.S.U. 90.9 FM and she offered him a spot as an Original Member of The Legendary "Kid's Jam Crew" Show w/ Longtime Dj/MC friends, Lester "Sir" Pace, Walter D, Carvel J, Parrish Murphy, Lucious Ice, M.C. Wickett Crickett, Jazzie Redd & Terry "King T" that aired every Saturday Morning. At that period of his life he was known as "The Mix Master", which, rap group UTFO already had a Dj named "Mix Master ICE", a then local MC, "Jazzie Redd", Legendary Rapper/Radio Host in Beaumont, Tx. was also a part of the Kid's Jam Crew, suggested a new Dj name: "Dj Maydayy" cause of his blazing quick "showboating" on the turntables....thus was born his battle name which many West & East Coast Battle Djs feared facing when they performed in Houston at Rainbow Skating Rink & Rhinestone Nightclub.

Getting the bad rep for being a "loner" & "hard-to-work-with", U-Shay never stopped pushing Mixed Tapes, owning Record Shops, touring w/ major artists around the country, and killing radio stations in his world travels with his skills. He tapped into Studio Production and had his first local group, "The International Players", w/ MC 1 Grand & the late great local dj, "Marco Polo" from Acres Homes, his best Friend. Then However he scored his greatest hit w/ the summer anthem of 1990 when he scored a record Production deal w/ defunct Record labels Luke Skywalker/HOT Records & Abatross Records in 3rd Ward, & along with Dj Flash created the late MC Breed's "Ain't No Future in Your Frontin", & "Gotta Get Mines", that both got him Gold Plaques and took him Nationwide where he first met the Legendary Artist 2Pac and he layed his verses, from that point, he never looked back on his rise to becoming one of Houston's most Talented and Feared Turntablist & Mixologists Down South. With over 36 yrs of Experience/History in the industry Down South....he was crowned "Legendary Dj" for all the right reasons, with ties on many radio stations from Texas-to-New York, he got his Educational Degrees to back his "hands on" history in the industry. Now known for his "Showboating" at his events he's been nicknamed "Da Showstoppa", cause of his Swagger, no matter what he wears or drives, he leaves you breathless at the end and anticipating what he's gonna say or do when he pulls up. Ex Member of "Go Djs" Collision he's a true Legend in Texas, he calls himself an underdog, but he stays true to the art daily at the age of 50.....catch him on The Mid-day Drives Cutting Up, as well as giving you his Legendary Quiet Storm Mixshow...."Da' Bone Zone" & "Between The Sheets" 9pm nightly.....known for his ability to never make a mistake blending & mixing, listeners can expect what they've known him for.....Incredible Mixes, and crazy shows packed with the swagger & energy only "Da Showstoppa" brings in his element and his huge following for his popular "Old School" & "Slow Jam" specialty Mixes, as well as being a Master of the Chopped & Screwed mixing style, created by the late Robert Earl "Dj Screw" Davis.
